Our monastery organ was installed at the end of June. The skilled craftsmen of Goulding & Wood Pipe Organ Builders built us a beautiful brand new console and refurbished and reconfigured our organ pipes, windchests and other parts to serve us in our new monastery chapel. It is like having a brand new organ!

 

Our prioress, Sr. Julie Sewell, and our chaplain, Fr. Jim Farrell, blessed the organ during Morning Prayer on Saturday, July 11, the Feast of St. Benedict. After months of missing the sound of our organ accompanying our prayer, it was a great joy to hear it sing in our new chapel! We finished Morning Prayer that day with the organ accompanying our festive singing of the Benedictus and the Liturgy of the Eucharist that followed. Now the organ is back on the accompaniment schedule for our liturgies. Our hearts are filled with deep gratitude and joy.
