Benedictine Life

“Therefore, we intend to establish a school for the Lord’s service…as we progress in this way of life and in faith, we shall run on the path of God’s commandments, our hearts overflowing with the inexpressible delight of love” (Rule of Benedict Prologue: 45, 49).

Benedictine life calls individual monastics and the entire monastic community to a life of love that is centered in Christ. As we live this way of life St. Benedict encourages us, “Let them prefer nothing whatever to Christ, and may he bring us all together to everlasting life” (Rule of Benedict Chapter 72:11-12).

We invite you to spend some time here reading about the various aspects of Benedictine life.
