Christmas at the Monastery
Christmas Eve
Christmas has begun at our Lady of Grace Monastery! It always begins with a festive Christmas Eve. We come together for prayer as we take time to gather as a community to bless the crib and celebrate the coming of the Son of God. We then gather for a wonderful pitch-in dinner and then off to our Christmas Eve party to enjoy the company of one another. One special moment is when we take time to remember our sisters who have gone before us. There is a special tree with Angel ornaments with the name of each sister who has passed away. This year, we had three sisters who went to heaven since last Christmas, and so we took time to remember each of them as a new ornament was placed on the tree. It is a special time as we fondly remember them and pray for them.
We then go into party mode as we play games and exchange gifts. We are blessed each year that Santa Claus takes time out of his busy schedule to stop by the Monastery to say hello along with Mrs. Claus. It is a joyous time and a great kick-off to the Christmas Season at the Monastery.
