April 29th
Wednesday, April 29th was another busy day here at both monasteries! Another group of Sisters moved in and began setting up their bedrooms. The Wheaton Moving Company has been so wonderful. They work hard and fast. We couldn't be more pleased with them and their willingness to help us in so many ways. Many familiar items have begun to appear on the walls such as the portraits of all of our former Prioresses, the replica of a Benedictine medal and our beautiful wall hanging of a Benedictine cross surrounded by Beech leaves. All of these items once adorned the walls of our present Monastery and now adorn the walls of our new Monastery. These portraits and works of art are helping to make this new building feel like home. We also celebrated our last Mass this evening. It was a bittersweet time for us as we thought back to the many hours of time spent in prayer and joyous celebrations, while at the same time opened our eyes to the future as we continue our Monastic Life in the new Monastery. The day culminated with the transfer of the Holy Eucharist from our present Chapel to our temporary Chapel. The new Chapel is close to being ready but just not yet. So, we will gather in a space in the Monastery that will act as our Chapel until the main one is ready. Just another moment for each of us to visualize our bright future. We are blessed!
