Feast of St.Benedict
On July 11th we celebrate the Feast of St. Benedict, who founded Benedictine monasticism over 1500 years ago! Our community is grateful for the privilege of being a part of and passing on this living tradition that has lasted through the ages.
Here are a couple of quotes from the beginning and the end of the Rule of Benedict that are included in our Liturgy of the Hours for this Feast Day.
“Listen carefully, daughter, to my instructions, and attend to them with the ear of your heart.” (RB Prologue:1)
“Let them prefer nothing whatever to Christ, and may he bring us all together to everlasting life.” (RB 72:11-12)
This year, in honor of this feast, we put together a display of some of the special Benedictine items that our sisters have acquired or created.
Enjoy the pictures below.
O, St. Benedict, pray for us!
